Dr. Ike Muslow was born in Oil City, Louisiana. He received his M.D. degree from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans in 1948.
He took residency training at the world-famous Big Charity in New Orleans; the old Shreveport Charity Hospital, the forerunner of todays LSU Hospital in Shreveport. Among the many credits and honors bestowed on Dr. Muslow, he was awarded Outstanding Professor award in 1974 and 1975. Among the most significant achievements was the construction of the Burn and Trauma Unit that evolved into todays Regional Burn Center and Level 1 Trauma Center at LSU Medical Center.
Since 1973, Dr. Muslow has served on the State Board of Medical Examiners, was a member of the Executive Committee of the American Board of Medical Specialties from 1989-1991 and served on the Louisiana State Board of Medicine by the Shreveport Medical Society, Alumni of the Year in 1993.
